The Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance (CVGA) has appointed Rob Law as its new Executive Officer.
Rob has an extensive background in developing and delivering regional climate change programs, advocacy and policy development. He takes up his position on August 1.
Over the past four years Rob has worked for the Northern Alliance for Greenhouse Action and the Eastern Alliance for Greenhouse Action. Rob has previously held a senior position with the Environment Centre NT and has worked for the Victorian State Government and universities on climate change policy and projects.
Rob, who lives in Campbells Creek, said:
“I am very excited to take on this role for the CVGA.
“I look forward to working with our councils to build on the CVGAs strong, 16-year legacy of regional climate change action. Having worked for the greenhouse alliances for a number of years I believe they are a fantastic vehicle for building capacity, scaling up local successes and innovation, and bringing in new money and opportunities for regional partnerships.
“I would like to thank Sonny Neale, outgoing EO, for all his hard work, passion and vision over the past five years.”
In welcoming Rob to the new EO role, CVGA Chair David Clark said:
“Rob has significant sector experience through his work with our sister alliances in the metropolitan area, and he brings very strong thinking and design skills to the program work CVGA does for its 13 member councils. We are looking forward to an active year ahead with project work in waste-to-energy, home energy, power pricing and home support areas across the region.
